only 10 weeks to go!

Here we are...well into the 3rd trimester... Hard to believe that 210 days of the pregnancy are behind us and only 70 to go! If our little one decides to arrive on time, that is! :) I'm getting so anxious to meet her, I hope she isn't stubborn like I was and decide to arrive late... Mom tells me that I was 10 days late!
*
We've started our summer travels...a little early this time! We just got back from a 4 day conference in Tulsa...then this weekend we head to Iowa for our 2nd baby shower! I'm really excited to get to see so many family and friends!!! It's going to be a fun weekend. Two weeks from today we head to Kentucky for Joel's sister's wedding. We're so excited for Kristin and Andrew and we're praying for a beautiful wedding day for them! Lucy will forever be in-utero in her wedding pictures! Then two days after the wedding, we head to Jacksonville for our Summer Training Program! It's going to be a very eventful next few weeks...
*
Lucy's movements have become more and more consistent and so much more recognizable... This morning she had a BIG STRETCH (I think she is sideways right now :) and her little hands poked out the left side of my belly while her feet poked out the right! It was hilarious!

Can't wait to meet this little girl that we already love SO much! Not long now. The days are just flying by...

Showered with Blessings...

Sunday, Baby Lucy and I had our first baby shower! It was SO fun!!! The girls really did spoil us... My dear friend and staff partner, Tracy, hosted the day and about 40 students and former students came to join in the fun! I couldn't have felt more blessed! Lucy received all kinds of fun and cute things! She is going to be one in-style baby, that's for sure! Joel said she already has more outfits than are in his entire closet! (personally, I don't think that's true. :) Here are a few pictures of our very fun day. (sorry if you were there and didn't make the group pic! i forgot to take it until the very end and some of you had already left!!!)

what a difference...

What a difference 14 weeks will make! To the left are my "belly pics" from 14 weeks and 28 weeks... I'm definitely all belly!!! I felt kind of weird at first taking pictures every week, but now it's fun to compare and remember what life was like not all that long ago!
*
I'm still feeling GREAT! Only 80 more days to go... We're getting very excited for little Lucy's arrival, that's for sure... I think she's getting anxious, too, as she hardly ever rests from reminding us of her presence. We had our first birthing class all day today and the teacher talked about the baby having "sleeping" and "awake" cycles. Joel and I both agreed that we don't think our little one ever sleeps! I feel her almost constantly it seems. Even when I wake up in the middle of the night, she's still movin' away... Joel thinks that we are having a small version of the Karate Kid. She doesn't just move gently, but is always karate chopping! :)

I'm sure I'll have more pics to post soon! Tomorrow is our first Baby shower and I couldn't be more excited!

80 days and counting! jen

starting on the nursery...

Well, it was a busy weekend at the Johnson's! We decided a couple of months ago that this past weekend would be "THE" weekend to work on the baby's room, since it was our only free weekend between February and when we head to our Summer Training Program in Jacksonville mid-May... So, I was all geared up and in major task mode!
*
Friday night we gathered our supplies and bought the paint...Saturday cleared out the baby's room and painted the walls and Sunday was spent putting together the crib and painting the trim! We were pretty happy with our progress... Still quite a few things left to be done, but we're getting there! The big stuff is out of the way. WHEW! Here are a few pics of the room so far... It was hard to get a picture of the whole room, so I got it from a few different angles! :) Might not look too impressive so far, but if you'd have seen it before...we really made a lot of progress!

Little girl's arrival is quickly nearing... Less than three more months... About 85 days to be exact. It's all becoming so incredibly real! She's getting so big that I can feel her little appendages when she moves...and arm, a leg, etc. It's quite incredible. She already LOVES her Daddy! Whenever he touches my belly, she comes to life...kicking up a storm! She's already a little Daddy's girl. :)

My first Baby Shower is this weekend and I am so excited! It will be with a lot of our students, so should be FUN! I really appreciate the girls going to so much work to put it together for us... Now that she has a "room", I actually have a place to put her things!

More soon... just wanted to post a short update. :) Here's one more picture to leave you with of my little nephew... My brother Joe sent this this morning and I thought it was the cutest thing I've ever seen! Here is Wyatt "praising God"! :) Hope it brings a smile to your face like it did mine! :)

94 days to go!

It's been a fun weekend!!! I'm with Mom and Dad at Joe and Belinda's house in Indiana visiting little Wyatt for the first time... I'm even more in love with him in person!!! He is just absolutely precious. Such a sweet little guy. We've been pretty low key, but having lots of fun! It's a beautiful day outside today! Mid 60's and sunny, so Wyatt got to go for his first walk outside... He slept through it, but enjoyed it just the same. :)
*
I think "Lucy" loves her cousin Wyatt already! I was holding him last night and she started kicking him! It didn't phase him in the slightest...he slept through it all. But I think he's taken with already as well. :) I do hope they are great friends through the years...
*
I forgot to take a 26 week picture, so this is my shot from today... 26 weeks 4 days. My Mom said she thinks I grew overnight. :)
*
That's it for now... Time to play a little before Wyatt heads to bed. The weekend is going by way too quickly!

More soon... love, jen
